Crab and cava at Gee Whites seafood bar on Swanage seafront

On the Swanage seafront, right next to a shack selling beach paraphernalia and sickly sweets, you’ll find some of the happiest people in the UK. And the reason they’re so happy? They’ve got a freshly dressed crab and a bottle of cava sitting in front of them.

The menu at Gee Whites seafood bar is simple and completely unpretentious; the most exotic ingredient you’ll probably find is the sweet chilli sauce accompanying the tempura prawns (how fancy!).

We tried a bit of everything just to be sure it’s absolutely delicious; fish, chips, crab, and peeled prawns – it was perfect seaside fare. When seafood is that fresh all you really need is a big dollop of mayonnaise and a squeeze of lemon.

With a perfectly good bottle of cava for £15 to wash it down there was plenty of spare change for the £5 arcade challenge, and a spot crazy golf found just a short walk along the seafront.
